While we wait for Owen....

Here is a little look at how we have been spending our time while we wait for Owen to arrive. I know that some people only keep track of our lives via the blog so sorry to those who have spent the last two weeks wondering what was happening. All in all, nothing much has been happening, Noelle was three weeks late and I am now realizing that I cook my babies much longer then the average woman. But someone has to be at the ends of the averages to create the averages right?

We are very happy to have my Aunt and Uncle living in town now. The have lived out of the country since I was a little kid and having them and their kiddos around now is wonderful. Two Sunday's ago they treated us to lunch at In-n-Out. We didn't take a lot of pictures but here is Noelle and Matty-B. She LOVES her cousins and they always have fun together. He is six and while she gets on his nerves a little sometimes he has been a great friend to her and is always showing her new ways to have fun.
Given our budget and never having an idea of when the baby is coming Valentine's Day was just some last minute fun and hanging out. I was able to use some Walmart store credit to get noelle some roller skates I have been looking at for ages. She was VERY excited about V-Day.
Her silly face that her friend Ella taught her when she came out to visit.

Enjoying her skittles.
Reading her card with a mouth FULL of skittles.
Testing out her new skates with Daddy, this is an activity that requires some tight hand holding.
The way she would roll and twist and turn as she fell gave us all the giggles!
She did a pretty good job for her first time on wheels. We made it to the mailbox and back and that made us all tired out!
Showing off her new skills...
Rollin along behind Daddy.
After nap that afternoon we went over to my parents house because Baba had a Valentines Day Surprise for Noelle.
I painted this Mailbox for mother's day for my mom when I was a kid. My Dad mounted it in the back yard next to the "Noelle Tree" that we planted over her placenta (makes the soil rich) when she was born. He explained to her that she has to check if the flag is up when she comes over because if it is that means she has a surprise inside.
All her V-day goodies.
Grandpa letting her loose.
Looking at her mailbox...it made her REALLY excited.
She loved the balloons that her auntie francie attached for her.
And up we go, she'll need help for a couple years, I'm sure the day she can reach inside by herself will be pretty exciting for her.
Here we go...
Pulling out all her goodies.
Standing by her Mailbox and tree with her goodies...it will be fun to look back over pictures and watch her grow.
Still lovin those balloons.
Inside to open her cards and eat WAY too much candy.
A polite smile for the camera.
My mom helped Noelle make me a mothers day card in which she "wrote" her name and everything. It was really sweet. Nick is in the back ground taking one of the many daily "have you had your baby yet calls"
Playing with the balloons.
We had a nice steak dinner for the second time at my parents this week. My Dad says I'm pregnant so it won't fight me on it, but any excuse to buy a steak (even better since they are on sale) and he's all for it! After dinner Dad built a fire and Nick and Noelle warmed up.
Silly faces!
Hugs for mommy.
We finished off with a movie for the guys and my mom and I played a game. It was a really nice day and it feels good to keep busy instead of sitting around waiting to go into labor. I do promise as soon as we are home and settled in there will be pictures of Owen up!

I love the mailbox full of goodies thing, that is such a cute idea!

I'll be praying for you guys and for you especially that labor comes soon and that it goes smoothly and safely.

Hey Becky, just wanted to let you know I found your blog and am reading! I hope baby Owen decides to come out soon. I know it's not quite the same as 2-3 weeks, but I was eight days overdue with my second baby. My doctor tried to push me into inducing but I am really against it. I think all babies come when they are ready! Have you read the book Pushed? I am in the middle of it right now and I think it is something you would like. Anyhow, good luck with your labor and delivery and just wanted to say hi! Can't believe how big Noelle is, she's adorable and looking so much like you!
